1871 – Horsedrawn streetcars begin service

1888 – Denver Tramway Company begins cable car service

1889 – Horsedrawn streetcars end service

1900 – Last cable car converted to electric trolley

1901 – Tramway Power facility opens

1919 – Buses begin service

1929 – Denver Tramway buys out start-up bus companies

1945 – World War II ends, personal automobile sales increase dramatically

1950 – Streetcar service ends

1974 – Regional Transportation District created
